About us

Diversity Education Institute Inc. (DEI) is a 501(c) (3) Non-Stock / Non-Profit incorporated under Delaware state law primarily for the purpose of empowering vulnerable populations through technology-powered and culturally diverse literacy programs. DEI is also registered in the State of Texas in accordance with Chapter 9 of the Texas Business Organizations Code. DEI has an IRS issued Employer Identification Number (EIN) and is eligible for state and federal tax exemptions in the USA. Donors who make charitable contributions to DEI are eligible for federal and state income tax deductions. DEI has offices in Conroe, Texas (USA), Nairobi (KENYA) and Dar es Saalam (TANZANIA). DEI will soon open an Office in UGANDA.

To promote 21st Century education informed by pedagogy, cultural competence, technology, best practices and evidence-based research. 

MISSION

To create a generation of young scientists who are passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) studies and careers and are at the forefront of advancements of ICTs, equal opportunity, gender equality, peace, and biodiversity.

GOALS

To promote STEAM education and English language acquisition via E-learning by supporting primary and secondary schools to acquire the necessary ICT skills and resources for creative and lifelong learning. 

Objectives

  • To promote STEAM education, English language acquisition via E-learning in primary and secondary schools;
  • Promote gender parity in STEM EducationTo promote local, regional and international engagements of young scientists on STEM-related activities and development of related innovative solutions;
  • To improve access to modern and reliable ICT infrastructure and services to young scientists;
  • To empower young scientists with necessary ICT competencies and skills;
  • To increase awareness of young scientists, their families and other stakeholders on ICT, its benefits and gender digital divide;
  • To work in collaboration with government departments, public, private and international organizations to empower women in all possible spheres including but not limited to STEAM education, English language acquisition, and e-learning.
  • To encourage collaborations between schools, higher learning institutions, industries and other stakeholders in optimizing the utilization of ICTs for education,
  • To conduct and undertake research either independently or in collaboration with any organization, individual, both national and international level on education challenges in various communities,
  • To create awareness and ensure the public realization of the need to promote STEAM education at local, national, and international levels,
  • To give material and moral support to all efforts and activities geared towards furthering STEM education within the society,
  • To increase the exposure of young scientists to positive role models in the fields of STEAM.
