Prof. Tom Mcconell

Tom J. McConnell is a Professor of Science Education in the Department of Biology, Ball State University. His research and teaching focus on teaching science as inquiry, especially in connection with environmental education and teacher professional development, including an effort to create inquiry-based science activities that can be used for home schooling, online learning and informal education. He is the lead author and publisher of the Conservation Tales book series, and on the Problem-Based Learning in the Science Classroom series (NSTA Press). He serves as director of the Conservation Educator Academy at the Indianapolis Zoo, and is the managing editor of the Global Journal of Transformative Education.
